Swaging Machines or Tube End Forming Machine - A Brief
Swaging machines or tube end forming
machines are used to alter the dimensions of a tube or pipe. The process is
usually a cold working, but it also includes hot working. Most often,
swaging process can be divided into two categories. In the first category,
workpiece is forced through a confining die to reduce its diameter. This is
referred as tube swaging. In the second one, dies are used to hammer a round
workpiece into a smaller diameter. This is called rotary swaging or radial
forging. The diameter of the tubes or pipes is reduced to make them fit for
various industrial applications. Swaging is normally the method of choice
for precious metals since there is no loss of material in the process.

Santec manufactures and exports a wide range of hydraulic swaging machines
for tubes and pipes depending on the size & design of the tubes. All the
swaging machines are very robust in design, conforming to international
quality standards. The capacity of these machines ranges from 10 mm to 125
mm OD of tubes, having a wall thickness of maximum 5 mm. The combination and
the integration of end-forming, cutting and machining operations on a single
machine has increased efficiency, accuracy and quality standards making
small batches as cost effective as larger ones. Special purpose solutions
are also available with loading and unloading devices, either stand alone or
linked to other processes, up or down flow.
